CSDA - Your Ideas for New Laws Welcome

Do you have an idea to create, improve or eliminate a state law affecting special districts? Is your district facing a challenge?

We invite you to submit ideas for new legislation that could become a CSDA sponsored bill in the 2015 Legislative Session.

Proposals should focus on furthering the interest of all types of special districts, regardless of geographic region or type(s) of service provided.

All submissions will be reviewed by CSDA staff and assessed for political implications, potential unintended consequences, cost of implementation and more.
Selected proposals will then be brought to the CSDA Legislative Committee for final approval.

Previous member-generated legislative proposals that became CSDA sponsored bills include a key provision within Senate Bill 184, which expanded a state-run debt collection program for local revenue to include all special districts. This measure was signed by Governor Brown and took effect January 1, 2014.

Share your law idea by filling out and submitting this 2015 Legislative Proposal Submission Form to CSDA Legislative Analyst Jimmy MacDonald. For any questions, please contact Jimmy at (916) 442-7887.
